How do young athletes from Ottawa get their chance to play professional hockey?
Ask Mitch O’Keefe.

As a professional goaltender, I have gained extensive experience in training and conditioning that I use to help local goalies reach their potential during their off-season.

I offer professional level coaching specific to the developing goalie.

Growing up in the Ottawa area, I played in the same cities and competitive leagues as the goalies I train. My aim is to help them advance to the same levels of play that I have reached in my career. My goaltending clinic is a two hour program that consists of on- and off-ice training. The first hour is specific on-ice drills of the Finnish and butterfly goalie styles that have dominated the NHL and other major competitive leagues. The second hour is off-ice training. This combination of training is of the utmost importance for achieving a higher level of play. The off- ice program is designed specifically for goalies as it works on fast feet, side to side movement, core strength, leg strength, and hand eye coordination. I have worked with personal trainers at every level from Div. 1 College programs to the NHL. From these experiences, I have developed a top level program that I share with my clients.
